About Nathan

Hi there, my name is Nathan and welcome to my Slay Your Depression website. About Nathan

Depression has been an adversity I’ve faced my entire life. Over the years I have purchases products and learned skills that I found aided in managing depression. Growing up talking about mental illness was a huge stigma which made it extremely difficult to reach out or seek treatment. Presently it is estimated that 1 in 5 people will suffer from some form of mental illness (e.g Depression)

I want to end the stigma on mental health and for it to be taken more seriously.

Over the years I’ve learned a lot about depression, how it affects us, techniques, products and person experience perspective that could aid in your fight with depression. I want to offer others insight into many of these, as well provide updated tips, techniques and products that real people are using these days.

I’ve probably been depressed for practically most of my life. Unfortunately I was face with adversities more than the average person. I was bullied in school, I had no friends, I have been homeless, battled addiction, didn’t have the best home life as a youth and substance abuse – you get the idea.

These were the cards that were dealt to me and definitely put me in a dark place, because like they say “Stuff Happens” Am I right?

I realized 1/4 into my 20s that feeling this way is something I never want to feel like; dark, empty, day to day, sad, stuck. It’s when I started taking a more active role in my mental health for a better well-being that I’ve noticed a difference in the intensity of my depression. Depression is like a roller coaster though, you’re going to have good days and bad days like everyone else but doesn’t mean you can’t take action to make it hurt just a little bit less.

Why do I want to help the fighters? Because we’ve been through the most stuff in life and I want to be a beacon of light for people suffering from depression, and acknowledge that it is okay to talk and manage your depression. I want people to live a fulfilling life and get back that ray of sunshine that was blacked out from the darkness. Everyone deserves a fair chance at being happy in life – End of story.

The purpose of the website is for people who suffer from depression or mental illnesses applicable to find techniques, tips and products that could aid in your fight.
